Crossed Paths: Origin Story

Crossed Paths: Origin Story

What started this all was a brief encounter with a stranger on a typical day for me. I was running some errands and had to make a stop at the bank, which is one of my usual tasks as an administrator for my father's company. However, I ended up meeting a person who seemed to be interested in more than just the document I needed notarized.

I didn’t know then that this brief connection would evolve into an entire body of work. "Crossed Paths" grew out of that moment: a meeting that felt meaningful, but ended in uncertainty.

In the weeks that followed, I found myself replaying small details, like my business card he kept in his cubicle, our conversations about our days, the voicemails we left each other, and his unexpected exit. I wrote about it all in my journal, not realizing those entries would later become the emotional foundation for my paintings. The experience wasn’t really about one person, but more so about what happens when paths intersect and then move apart. About longing, timing, and the quiet lessons that come with waiting and release.

I’ll be sharing this collection at 72 Warren Street in Tribeca. Until then, I’ll be posting glimpses of the process including the sketches, the layers, the stories that found their way into paint and paper. Thank you for following along as I unfold this journey!
